A total of 452 domestic enterprises and organisations have registered to take part in Techmart Vietnam ASEAN + 3 slated for Sept. 17 at the Vietnam Exhibition Trade Fair Centre in Hanoi.

During the four-day event, the Republic of Korea, Japan and China are expected to showcase their products at 22 pavilions while other members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will exhibit at between 20-45 booths.

The organising board said that it has all-but completed its preparations for the event.

The event will introduce technology and equipment for food processing, renewable energy, information and communication. ASEAN countries have conducted joint research with good results in these fields in recent years, said Director of the National Science and Technology Centre Ta Ba Hung.

Vietnam has held three biennial national technology fairs since 2003 in order to boost the promotion of trade and the transfer of advanced technology, which resulted in the signing of contracts worth a total of more than 3 trillion VND (176.48 million USD).

This is the first time Techmart Vietnam has been included on the official agenda of the ASEAN+3 Scientific and Technological Committee, Hung said./.
