Hanoi to offer public bicycle service from September

From September, people in Hanoi can enjoy public bicycle service at a cost from 5,000-10,000 VND (0.21-0.42 USD) for 30 minutes of use, Do Ba Dan, Chairman of Tri Nam Group, the investor in the project, said on July 5.

Hanoi (VNA) – From September, people in Hanoi canenjoy public bicycle service at a cost from 5,000-10,000 VND (0.21-0.42 USD) for 30 minutesof use, Do Ba Dan, Chairman of Tri Nam Group, the investor in the project, saidon July 5.

Dan said that the service will debut on September 2 on theoccasion of the National Day. So far, bicycles for the service has been readyin six central districts of Hanoi, he said, adding that in early August, thefirm will complete all 79 bicycle stations, enabling the service to beofficially launched in September.

Customers can choose to use normal bicycles or electricbicycles, Dan said, adding that Tri Nam plans to provide additional 400electric bicycles in the future.

In the first phase of the project, 1,000 bicycles, includingabout 500 electric ones, will be placed at 70 to 80 bike rental spots inthe districts of Ba Dinh, Tay Ho, Dong Da, and Thanh Xuan and near stationson the Cat Linh–Ha Dong metro line.

In the second phase, which will be run between 2023 and2024, 3,000 more bicycles will be placed at 350 spots.

The project to provide public bicycle service was approvedby the People’s Committee of Hanoi in June 2022.

It aims to make travelling activities using publictransportation services easier by providing more choices to travel between busstations, urban railway stations, urban areas and shopping centres./.

Search and rescue underway after tourist speedboat capsizes off Phu Quoc

According to the local authorities, the canoe operated by Ocean Pearl Island Company was transporting 32 Indian tourists and three crew members, including one captain, one mechanic, and one staff member, capsized while en route from May Rut Ngoai Island to An Thoi Port amid strong wave and wind condition. Man jailed for smashing Nguyen Dynasty throne armrest

According to the indictment, Tam bought an admission ticket to the citadel around noon on May 24, 2025. Nearly 700 administrative procedures abolished

Vietnam handles over 2.39 million traffic violations in H1

According to the Traffic Police Department, the country recorded 7,773 traffic accidents during the six-month period, killing 4,877 people and injuring 4,486. Compared with the same period last year, accidents fell by 17.4%, fatalities by 8.4% and injuries by 28%.
