A training course for people who are in charge of the Young Pioneer Brigades of Vientiane, Laos and Hanoi, Vietnam opens on July 6 in Hanoi.

This is part of a cooperation programme signed recently by representatives of the youth unions from the two cities.

Fifteen young Laotians attending the course will be trained in teenage psychology, methods to set up working plans, Young Pioneer Brigade etiquette and other skills such as singing and dancing.

During their time in Hanoi, the trainees will go on a field trip to the coal mining province of Quang Ninh and visit some historical monuments in Hanoi.

Under the cooperation programme between the two cities, an exchange festival will be held in Vietnam this year and Vietnamese youth pioneers will give free medical examinations, treatment and medicine to those living in Xaythany province of Laos this month.

A contest testing the youths knowledge of the Lao capital city of Vientiane and the 1000-year old capital of Vietnam, Thang Long-Hanoi, will be held in each city this year./.
