HCM City allocates funds for HIV/AIDS children

The Ho Chi Minh City authorities plan to spend nearly 29.5 billion VND on services to care and protect children affected by HIV/AIDS in the city.
The Ho Chi Minh City authorities plan to spend nearly 29.5 billion VND on services to care and protect children affected by HIV/AIDS in the city.

The plan was scheduled to be implemented in the 2011-2015 period in response to Decision No.84/2009 by the Prime Minister regarding his approval of a national action plan for HIV/AIDS-affected children in 2011 with vision to 2020.

It aims to increase chances for HIV/AIDS-affected children and their caregivers to gain access to good social services.

At present, nearly 70,000 children in HCM City are being affected by HIV/AIDS, of whom, 1,200 are living with HIV, and the remaining children are at high risk of getting HIV./.
