HCM City completes big drainage system

It is the first phase and an important segment of HCM City ’sNhieu Loc-Thi Nghe basin hygiene and environmental project.

The facility will collect waste water and rainwater discharged from theareas it runs through, including districts 3 and 1, Phu Nhuan and BinhThanh and Tan Binh districts, and discharge treated water to the Sai Gonriver.

The system, whose construction started in2003 at a cost of 8.6 trillion VND, will also help manage flooding,which often occurs in the area during the rainy season, benefiting asmany as 1.5 million people living here.

Upgrade ofHoang Sa and Truong Sa roads running along Nhieu Loc-Thi Nghe canal wasalso completed on the occasion, working to smooth traffic betweendistricts in the area.-VNA

Memorial service held for 731 fallen soldiers in Ho Chi Minh City

From June 23 to October 5, Team K74 and other forces recovered 731 sets of martyrs’ remains from the park. Biological samples and DNA samples collected from relatives of unidentified fallen soldiers are being analysed and stored in the national gene bank to support identification efforts.

Saigon River pedestrian bridge set to be joined on October 21

The assembly comprises a main bridge structure weighing about 1,400 tonnes and a specialised steel supporting frame weighing around 2,000 tonnes. During testing, about 30 self-propelled modular transporters were used to lift the assembly 40cm off the ground for technical inspections. Sensors and monitoring equipment recorded key parameters.
