HCM City (VNA) Ho Chi Minh City is planning to build a sports centre in District 3 with a total investment of over 1.95 trillion VND (85 million USD), with the aim to improve the wellbeing of locals.

Recently, the municipal People’s Committee sent a dispatch asking for the Prime Minister’s approval of using several lots of land to pay for a Build-Transfer (BT) contract of the project.

With seven floors and three basements, the Phan Dinh Phung sports centre, once completed, is expected to meet local demands for training and competition spaces.

It will also serve as a venue for the city to host national and Southeast Asian competitions.

At the beginning of the year, the city decided on the Compensation and Clearance Corporation and Phat Dat Real Estate Development Corporation as the investors of the project.

To date, the city has completed negotiations on the BT contract and signed an agreement with the investors. -VNA
