Customs officers at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City seized 3.5 kg of heroin being smuggled out of the country on October 27.
The heroin was hidden in the luggage of two Australian nationals boarding a plane home.
The suspects and the confiscated heroin were handed over to the city’s Police Department for the Investigation of Drug-related Crimes.
Customs officers at the airport have uncovered nine cases of drug trafficking so far this year. They have seized 23.67 kg of heroin and 2,065 methamphetamine tablets worth over 69.5 billion VND (3.2 million USD) in total.-VNA
