A wide range of activities to celebrate the 128th birth anniversary of late President Ho Chi Minh (May 19) will be held in Ho Chi Minh City.

HCM City (VNA) – A wide range of activities to celebrate the 128th birth anniversary of latePresident Ho Chi Minh (May 19) will be held in Ho Chi Minh City.

The highlights of the programme will be an incense and flower offering ceremonyat Ho Chi Minh Museum and President Ho Chi Minh Statue Park onMay 19, and an art performance programme on the same day’s evening.

Exhibitions featuring the late leader's life and career will be organised along Nguyen Hue Pedestrian and DongKhoi streets, and at the Ho Chi Minh Museum from May 17-June 10.

The municipal PartyCommittee will host a ceremony to honour outstanding individuals and organisations,which showed good performance in response to the movement “Studying and Following President Ho Chi Minh's Moral Example”in 2017-2018.

Meanwhile, the municipalPeople’s Committee will hold a planting-tree festival.

On the occasion, the municipal Party Committee’s StandingBoard has decided to present Party membership badges to 2,541 Partymembers, including 141 those bestowed with 70-year Party membership badges, 13members with 65-year Party membership badges, 228 members with badges for 55years of Party membership, and 638 members with 50-year Party membership badges.-VNA

FLC appeal hearing postponed, giving more time for compensation

After discussions and listening to opinions from lawyers, defendants, and victims present at the trial, the judicial panel stated that postponing the appeal hearing for Trinh Van Quyet, ex-chairman of FLC Group, is necessary to ensure the rights of the victims. The postponement aims to give the defendants and their families more time to pay compensation for victims and those with related rights and obligations.
