HCM City youth active with voluntary activities

The Ho Chi Minh City chapter of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMCYU) on July 12 officially launched a host of voluntary activities in Lao provinces to uphold solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and regional countries.

As many as 100 young volunteers will offer health check-ups and treatment to locals, present gifts and houses to needy families, and host cultural, art and sport exchanges in provinces of Attapeu and Champasak between July 20 and August 3.

They will also transfer agricultural know-how and educate pupils on computer science.

Next month, the chapter will continue with similar activities in Cambodia.

Earlier, from July 1-11, the chapter joined a group of Malaysian students to help build a concrete bridge and rural road in the city’s Can Gio and Nha Be districts respectively.

The Malaysian peers visited and offered gifts to underprivileged kids in Thi Nghe Sponsorship Centre for Orphans and Children with Disabilities.

They also engaged in exchanges with students and residents in the city.-VNA
