HCM City (VNA) – More than 680,000 students in Ho Chi Minh City came back to school on January 4 after almost seven months of studying online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

They are students of the 7th, 8th, 10th and 11th grades. Previously, nearly 160,000 9th and 12th graders in the southern largest hub returned to school on December 13, 2021.

Each school has devised online and in-person classes in accordance with their conditions.

In Thanh An island commune of HCM City’s Can Gio district, all students of grades 1 to 12 are allowed to go back to school.

Other educational facilities, such as foreign language, informatics and life skills centres, will be allowed to resume in-person classes if their COVID-19 prevention and control plans have been approved by district-level authorities.

Teachers and students are required to receive at least one jab of COVID-19 vaccine for more than 14 days or have made full recovery from the disease./.
