The Minister for Health, Nguyen Thi Kim Tien, has become the first minister to make public her official fan page on Facebook.
The fan page at https://www.facebook.com/botruongboyte.vn was launched on February 28 to connect with people, as Facebook has become popular in Vietnam, said the health ministry.
The ministry pointed out that the message of the fan page was "listening and understanding". She directly manages and operates the page, which has attracted more than 104,000 "likes" by March 3.
At the monthly Government's press conference in late January, Tien said that she will accept public comments through the social media.
She added that receiving information on Facebook had already helped the health ministry to detect several mistakes by health workers.-VNA
