A contest on Canada was held on November 1 in Hanoi to mark the 40 th anniversary of the Vietnam-Canada diplomatic ties.
The “Hello Canada ” contest creates an opportunity for Vietnamese youngsters to learn more about Canada ’s history, economics, politics, culture, and society, as well as its bilateral ties with Vietnam , said Vice Chairman of the Vietnam-Canada Friendship Association Nguyen Thiet Son.
Son joined Canadian Ambassador to Vietnam David Joseph Devine and Vice Director of the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) Pham Quang Minh in saying they hope the contest will help develop the all-round cooperation between the two countries.
The contest includes two parts, focusing on Canada ’s geography, history, economics, politics, society, and expatriate Vietnamese community, as well as the role of people-to-people diplomacy in bilateral ties.
The Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam won the first prize, followed by the USSH and the Hanoi University.-VNA
