Historical books on National Liberation Front of South Vietnam introduced

The Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee held a ceremony on December 19 to introduce a set of books about the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam, the Alliance of National, Democratic and Peace Forces of Vietnam and the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam.

HCM City (VNA) – The Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee helda ceremony on December 19 to introduce a set of books about the NationalLiberation Front of South Vietnam, the Alliance of National, Democratic and PeaceForces of Vietnam and the Provisional Revolutionary Government ofthe Republic of South Vietnam.

The compilation process began in August 2016. The compilation council received493 pieces of writing about the front, the alliance and the provisionalrevolutionary government from collectives and individuals across the country.

The books feature 162 carefully selected pieces of writing and detailsof events throughout operations of the three organisations, along with 227photos collected from various museums.

At the ceremony, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen ThienNhan noted the significance of the front, the alliance and the provisionalrevolutionary government, all of which greatly contributed to the liberation ofthe south of Vietnam and national reunification.

He said one of the outstanding successes of the books was the withdrawalof precious lessons of the three organisations.

The compilation work was performed by veteran officials, many of whom experiencedboth struggles against French colonists and the US.

According to President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central CommitteeTran Thanh Man, the books are significant to the front’s communicationsactivities as an inspiration for the youth.

He proposed that Ho Chi Minh City continue exploiting the remainingdocuments, while popularising the books among the society.

The National Liberation Front of South Vietnam was set up on December20, 1960 in Tan Lap commune, Tan Bien district of the southern Tay Ninhprovince. In 1968, to expand the great national unity bloc fighting US and SouthVietnam forces, the Allianceof National, Democratic and Peace Forces of Vietnam was introduced. After the successof the Spring Uprising in 1968, the ProvisionalRevolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam was formed, meetingthe urgent demands of the revolution in both domestic and foreign affairs.-VNA

They also consented to promote the development of a cross-border economic cooperation zone through sectoral cooperation at Hai Yen industrial park, Van Ninh international port in Mong Cai; a cross-border e-commerce industrial park; and transport connectivity projects between the two cities including the international railway line from Mong Cai to Dongxing, Bac Luan III bridge, and an auxiliary rough steel bridge.
