Kacperczyk, who ison an offical Vietnam visit, described HCM City as the most dynamiceconomic hub of the country, with a key role to play in the trade linksbetween Vietnam and Poland in the coming time.

She told thehost that Poland always considers Vietnam a key political and tradepartner with which it hopes to drive bilateral cooperation forward,especially in medicine, infrastructure building, and hi-technology.

Earlier, the Polish official participated in the Vietnam-PolandEconomic Forum held in the city, during which she highlighted HCM Cityas having a propitious environment to draw investors.

ViceChairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Manh Ha confirmed thathis city always welcomes and makes it easier for foreign firms,including those from Poland, to promote trade.

It alsoencourages businesses of Vietnam and Poland to increase the explorationof fields in need of development, such as services and informationtechnology, Ha added.

Monika Piatkowska, Vice President ofthe Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency, said foreigninvestment into Vietnam is on the rise, with many investors deeplyimpressed by the business environment in the country.

Sheunderlined the economic ties between Vietnam and Poland, as well as thebilateral investment activities as a cornerstone for strongercooperation in the near future.

Poland is currently thelargest trade partner of Vietnam within central and eastern Europe,while Vietnam is its third biggest partner in Southeast Asia.

It has so far run 10 investment projects in Vietnam, including twoworth 350,000 USD in Ho Chi Minh City. Its two-way trade with the citywas recorded at 45 million USD in the first five months of this year.-VNA

HCM City to use municipal budget for Metro Line No. 2 project

The Metro Line No. 2 project has an estimated investment of nearly 47.9 trillion VND (2 billion USD) and has nearly completed land clearance, at 99.8%. The NA’s Resolution 188 authorises HCM City to develop seven metro lines spanning 355 kilometres over the next decade, with preliminary total investment for the 2025-2035 phase estimated at 40.2 billion USD.
