Hoi An among 15 world’s best cities

The ancient town of Hoi An in the central province of Quang Nam was named among 15 best cities of the world in a recent readers’ vote of the US travel magazine Travel & Leisure.

Hanoi (VNA) – The ancient town of Hoi An in the central province ofQuang Nam was named among 15 best cities of the world in a recent readers’ voteof the US travel magazine Travel & Leisure.

Hoi An ranked seventh in the list with a score of 90.31. According to themagazine, most of the voted cities are pedestrian-friendly, possess ample greenspace and has a rich history that is being thoughtfully preserved as the citygrows.

Hoi An boasts many temples, pagodas and old houses.The ancient city was a leading trading port in Southeast Asia in the 17th and18th centuries.

Recently, online media outlet Thrillist of the US haslisted the ancient city among the most beautiful and cheapest beach cities inthe world.

The city’s Hoai River and its channels made the listof the 10 most famous canals in the world on the US-based travel websitetouropia.com in 2014.
