Hoi An city wins National German Sustainability Award 2019

Surpassing 30 other pairs of twinned cities, Hoi An in Vietnam’s central province of Quang Nam, and Wernigerode of Germany, won the National German Sustainability Award 2019.

Quang Nam (VNA) –Surpassing 30 other pairs of twinned cities, Hoi An in Vietnam’s centralprovince of Quang Nam, and Wernigerode of Germany, won the National German SustainabilityAward 2019.

This is the first time the award,presented to cities, companies and individuals in promotion of sustainablesociety, honoured twinned city projects between German localities and foreignpartners.

Hoi An and Wernigerode received 30,000EUR in cash to finance local sustainable development projects.

The two cities inked an agreementto establish their twinned relations in 2013, agreeing to promote cooperationin economy, culture, education and the environment.

In 2016, Wernigerode joined theGerman Government to support 170,000 EUR for Hoi An’s construction of a solarenergy-based electricity supply system to operate its sound and lightingsystem.-VNA

Vietnam’s digital map updates 34 provincial-level administrative units

An 1:1,000,000-scale administrative map of Vietnam online and in digital *.pdf format will be released once the National Assembly’s Resolution on the reorganisation of provincial-level administrative units in 2025 takes effect in oder to promptly support the Prime Minister’s direction and administration, support state management by ministries, sectors, and localities; and meet requirements of organisations and individuals.
