The third Hoi An International Food Festival 2018 - “Taste the World” is taking place in Hoi An city, the central province of Quang Nam, from March 11-17.

Quang Nam (VNA) – The third Hoi An International Food Festival 2018 -“Taste the World” is taking place in Hoi An city, the central province of QuangNam, from March 11-17.

The festival, organised by the Hoi An Culinary Events and the Hoi An People’sCommittee, drew 12 renowned international chefs who bring their food andculture to Hoi An.

The festival aims to promote culture and tourism of the city to domestic andforeign tourists and offers opportunities for chefs of local restaurants tomeet and share experience with the world’s cuisine experts.

Hoi An was recognised as a World HeritageSite by UNESCO in 1999 and since then has made its mark as the culinarydestination of Vietnam.

The town is often cited in internationalreaders polls, magazines, and travel pages as one of 10 best places to eat inthe world. Hoi An’s traditional foods rank sixth on TripAdvisor and, accordingto Lonely Planet, Hoi An’s market is known as the “food capital of Vietnam”amongst both domestic and foreign tourists.

In 2016 and 2017, Hoi An hosted the firstand second International Food Festivals.

At the opening ceremony of second festival on March 14, 2017, Thomas Gugler,president of the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS), officiallyawarded a certificate of honour to recognise Hoi An as the Food Capital ofVietnam. - VNA

2025 Vietnam Culture Festival held in Osaka

Visitors enjoy Thai environment, lifestyle at Hanoi festival

At the Thai Festival, from March 28 night to March 30 morning in Hanoi, visitors explored typical Thai dishes, along with health care and beauty care products and traditional handicrafts. They also enjoyed traditional dances from many regions of Thailand, tried making Khanom Krok coconut cakes and painting patterns on silk, among other activities.

Book week in Hanoi invites children to the wonderland of British tales

Vu Thi Quynh Lien, Deputy Director of Kim Dong Publishing House, said: “The UK Children's Picture Book Week brings a fresh and creative reading space, helping young children access famous picture book works. Through this, they not only explore but also develop a love for reading from an early age.”
