Hospital K, UK partners work to improve cancer treatment

Over 300,000 Vietnamese patients are struggling with cancer, said Director of the Vietnam National Cancer Hospital (Hospital K) Tran Van Thuan during a conference on scientific research and training cooperation between Hospital K and UK partners on April 16.

Hanoi (VNA) – Over 300,000 Vietnamese patients are struggling with cancer,said Director of the Vietnam National Cancer Hospital (Hospital K) Tran VanThuan during a conference on scientific research and training cooperationbetween Hospital K and UK partners on April 16.

Thuansaid about 165,000 new cases of cancer and 115,000 deaths of the disease arereported in Vietnam each year.

HospitalK has developed bilateral partnerships with corporations, hospitals anduniversities from developed countries such as the UK, France, the US, Japan,Australia, the Republic of Korea to improve the quality of cancer diagnosis andtreatment.

Hesaid collaboration with the UK partners will step up the control and treatmentof the disease, train a contingent of skilled staff to provide quality medicalservices, thus improving the quality of Vietnamese people’s life.-VNA

Malaria cases in Vietnam down 20% in 2024
