Da Nang (VNA) - The Da Nang City Association for Victims of Agent Orange (DAVA) inaugurated a house for Agent Orange (AO) victims with polio in Hoa Nhon commune in Hoa Vang district on March 9.
The house, which was built with a donation from Singaporean Harold Chan Soo York, will help 20 children born with polio.
Children will receive treatment and rehabilitation at the centre from the centre’s staff and doctors from Da Nang’s General Hospital.
According to DAVA, Harold Chan has donated 1.2 billion VND (53,000 USD) and 36,000 USD to DAVA to help AO victims in the city.
The centre is home to 90 AO-affected children.
Da Nang is home to more than 5,000 AO victims, of which 1,400 are children.
Over 44 billion VND (1.95 million USD) was raised from domestic and foreign donors in supporting for AO victims in the city.-VNA
