The Hong Kong-Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) Vietnam on Sept. 14 launched its banking services at more than 1,600 post offices under the management the Vietnam Post Corporation (VNPOST).

The cooperation between the largest foreign bank in Vietnam and the country’s largest postal service provider aims to take advantage of the latter’s nationwide network and the worldwide prestige of HSBC.

HSBC Vietnam General Director Thomas Tobin said the cooperation would help his bank to extend services in order to meet the demand for banking transactions among customers.

VNPOST General Director Do Ngoc Binh underlined that the deal provides a promising prospect for both sides to expand their business, diversify types of products and supply additional services to customers.

He said the cooperation is a strategic step for both sides in developing their retail markets in order to bring products and services to more Vietnamese localities, even those in remote and isolate areas./.
