As many as 30,000 tourists visited imperial Hue’s relics in thecentral province of Thua Thien–Hue during the first three daysof the Year of the Snake.
The tourists included 8,000 foreign visitors, mainly from France, Australia and the US .
Besides discovering more about Vietnam’s Tet festival, the visitorshad a large choice of traditional Vietnamese dishes to enjoy, adding tothe festive atmosphere in Vietnam’s ancient capital.
The tourists had an opportunity to join the Lunar New Year’s Eve party, receive gifts and enjoy Tet feasts.
The Huyen Tran Centre of Culture in the southwest of the city receivedthousands of travellers visiting pagodas and mausoleums during thefestival. They paid tribute to the late Princess Huyen Tran and KingTran Nhan.
On the third day of the Lunar New Year,2,100 tourists aboard the Celebrity Millennium Ship from the USvisited the city.
Thua Thien-Hue expects to cater for between 2.5 and 3 million tourists this year.-VNA
