India highly values defence cooperation with Vietnam

New Delhi (VNA) - Secretary (East) at the Indian Ministry of External Affairs Jaideep Mazumdar has affirmed that the defence cooperation with Vietnam is a very important pillar.

Addressing an August 1 special briefing on Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s India visit, Mazumdar said defence industry cooperation has emerged as a very significant area, and that discussions included defence technology transfer.

PM Chinh paid a state visit to India from July 30 - August 1 at the invitation of his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.

Speaking at the Hyderabad House in New Delhi, the Vietnamese leader spoke highly of India’s role towards peace, stability and prosperity in the region, noting security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region needs international solidarity to be tackled./.
