Jakarta (VNA) – At least eight people, including an infant, were killed after a two-storey boarding house in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia, caught fire on May 29.

Tinton Yudha Riambodo, Chief of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tanjung Perak Port Police, said the fire that broke out at 2.30 pm local time.

According to owner of the boarding house, it had 20 occupants. The eight bodies that were found have yet to be identified, as the victims were badly burnt.

Police are working to find out the exact number of deaths and the cause of the fire.-VNA
