(Photo: en.tempo.co) Jakarta(VNA) – Indonesia’s Youth and Sports Minister Zainudin Amali on March 12reviewed the preparation for the FIFA U-20 World Cup at Manahan stadium,claiming that the country is ready to host the game in May and June this year.
Manahan stadium is one of the six that Indonesiaproposed to host the FIFA U-20 World Cup that Cup will be held from May 20 toJune 11, 2023.
According to the minister, Manahan stadium is the placewhere the final match and the closing ceremony of the tournament take place.
Indonesia has made great efforts to complete thetechnical facilities, especially the grounds to meet international standards.The successful organisation of the U-20 World Cup will become a pride of thenation.
Indonesia, along with other ASEAN nations, aims to be thehost of the 2034 FIFA World Cup. Thus, hosting the FIFA U-20 World Cup, thesecond major FIFA tournament, is a great opportunity for the country to show itsability.
Zainudin Amali said that chairperson of the Indonesian FootballAssociation (PSSI) Erick Thohir reviewed other proposed stadiums includingGelora Sriwijaya Jakabaring Stadium in Palembang City, South Sumatra Province,and Si Jalak Harupat Stadium in Bandung District, West Java Province./.
