Jakarta (VNA) – The Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) on October 9 pledged to spare no efforts to ensure safety for Vietnam’s football fans during the Indonesia-Vietnam match in the World Cup 2022 qualifying round.
At a working session with the Embassy of Vietnam in Indonesia, PSSI Secretary General Ratu Tisha Destria said that the association has devised security plans for the match, which is slated for October 15 at the Kapten I Wayan Dipta stadium on Indonesia’s Bali island.
She voiced her hope that with close collaboration of the PSSI, the Vietnam Football Federation and the Vietnamese Embassy, the match will be a success.
An exclusive entrance way and seats will be zoned off for Vietnamese fans, she added.
For his part, Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia Pham Vinh Quang asked the PSSI to ensure safety for Vietnamese players and spectators, by enhancing security measures and preparing scenarios in case of incidents, especially after a recent violence during the Indonesia-Malaysia match.
Vietnamese fans are also asked not to bring inflammables and flares to the stadium.
The match will be Vietnam’s third game in Group G. It is scheduled be aired live from 6.30 pm on VTV6./.
