HCM City (VNA) – The 18th International Vietnam ChemicalIndustry Exhibition (VINACHEM EXPO 2023) kicked off in Ho ChiMinh City on November 15, gathering 375 Vietnamese and internationalexhibitors.

Jointlyorganised by the VietnamAdvertisement and FairExhibition JSC (VIETFAIR) and the China Councilfor the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the 3-day event features productsand technologies in the fields of chemicals, plastics, adhesives, and tapes.

Withinthe framework of the event, representatives from domestic and international businesseswill have a chance to join field trips to a number of factories, export processing zones (EPZ), and industrialparks (IPs) in HCM City and Hanoi.

CCPIT Vice President Liu Ji Gang said the number of Vietnameseexhibitors increased significantly compared to previous years, and this isexpected to contribute to deepening the cooperation between Vietnamand China, and other countries in the field of chemical industry.

Accordingto Phung Manh Ngoc, Director the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Vietnam ChemicalAgency, the domestic chemical industry has developed strongly inrecent years and contributed positively to Vietnam's industry development.

VINACHEM EXPO - the largest international event of the chemical industry inVietnam, is expected to create motivation for the domestic and foreign businesscommunity to focus resources on technological innovation, improve the qualityof products and competitiveness, and join the global value chain.

According to statistics from the Vietnam Industry and Trade Information Centre(VITIC), as of 2022, Vietnam had over 1,800 chemical production enterprises. Underthe country’s strategy for developing the chemical industry by 2030, the sector will grow at an annual rate of 10-11% per year./.

Monetary policy must ensure macro stability, support growth: PM

Petrol prices cut from 15:00 on August 13

The price of E5 RON92 petrol is capped at 21,235 VND (0.81 USD) per litre, down 493 VND, while E10 RON95-III is priced at no more than 22,119 VND per litre, down 205 VND.

More preferential credit available to businesses

Under SBV requirements, commercial banks are to provide Vietnamese-dong loans to SMEs and growth-driving sectors at rates at least 1 percentage point per year lower than their average rates for loans of the same maturity. They are also required to consider waiving or reducing service fees for eligible customers in line with regulations and their financial capacity.

Vietnam, UK seek new growth drivers in technology, logistics

British Ambassador to Vietnam Iain Frew highlighted the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation as Vietnam - UK relations have been upgraded to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Over 60% of long-stalled projects have obstacles resolved

Of the 8,002 long-stalled projects, 4,938 completed the settlement of obstacles in line with conclusions of the Party Central Committee and resolutions of the National Assembly and Government, as well as relevant Government decrees and guiding documents as of July 20, up 564 projects from the previous month.
