Int’l donors pledge to assist VN in HIV/AIDS combat

International donors will continue provide their assistance to Vietnam to implement effectively the country’s strategy on HIV/AIDS prevention and fight, a United Nations official has said.

UN Resident Coordinator in Vietnam Pratibha Mehta made the affirmation during talks with Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on December 10 in Hanoi .

Mehta, who led a delegation of representatives from embassies, international organisations and donors for HIV/AIDS, d rugs and prostitution prevention and fight in Vietnam , also made congratulations on achievements the country has made over the past years.

On his part, Deputy PM Phuc highly evaluated the effective support given by embassies, international organisations and donors to the country’s HIV/AIDS fight in the past years.

The Deputy PM added that he hopes the international donors and friends to continue proving their close and effective cooperation and support to the country’s efforts in the field.-VNA
