DaNang (VNA) – The International East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC)Trade and Tourism Fair opened in the central city of Da Nang on August 2.

The fair features nearly 500 booths from more than 350 businesses in 18 citiesand provinces, along with 11 foreign organisations and enterprises.  

On display are electrical and electronic devices, timber products, furniture,handicrafts, jewelry, tourism products, consumer goods, garments-textiles,footwear, pharmaceutical products and cosmetics.

The fair will also include workshops and training sessions.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai saidthe annual event aims to promote socio-economic achievements and potential fortrade, investment and tourism of cities and provinces in central and CentralHighlands regions, and Mekong Sub-region countries.

The fair will run until August 7.-VNA

Vietnamese tech firm FPT expands footprint in France

According to Dang Tran Phuong, Deputy CEO of FPT Software in charge of the European and Middle Eastern markets, FPT considers France one of its key markets in Europe. CAAV proposes tax cuts, financial support for airlines

These include a proposal to exempt 100% of the environmental protection tax on aviation fuel until the end of May this year, and to add aviation fuel to the list of goods eligible for a reduced value-added tax (VAT) from 10% to a lower appropriate rate.

Total market sales by the end of February reached 46,153 units, up 39% compared with the same period last year.

VAMA auto sales fell sharply in February

Of the total sales, passenger cars accounted for the largest share with 12,376 units, down 53% month-on-month. Commercial vehicles followed with 6,542 units, a decrease of 37%, while 360 specialised vehicles were sold, down 22% from the previous month.
