Hanoi (VNA) – Many countries paid special attention to and spoke highly of the 12th National Party Congress of Vietnam, which wrapped up in Hanoi on January 28 after eight days.

Talking to the Vietnam News Agency’s correspondents in Laos, Head of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Sounthone Xayachack praised the Vietnamese side’s preparations for the important political event, saying that she hopes for strengthened relations between the two nations.

Saykong Sayasin, General Secretary of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association, said he highly valued Vietnam’s foreign policy, noting that with sound orientations and policies, Vietnam has maintained stability, safeguarded the national independence and sovereignty, and promoted international integration.

He highlighted the success of the 12th National Party Congress and the country’s great achievements after its 30-year Renewal (Doi Moi) process, which was led by the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).

Rapid development in many fields has proven that the CPV’s policies are effective and judicious, he said.

The National News Agency of Argentina, Telam, also spoke about the success of the congress, affirming that under the leadership of the CPV, Vietnam has seen remarkable achievements.

It said the Renewal process marks the beginning of Vietnam’s international integration process, helping the country achieve successes in many fields – especially socio-economic development, culture and technology.

Speaking highly of the success of the congress, Andrey Klimov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs of the Council of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs of the United Russia Party, said developments approved at the congress will create favourable conditions for his country to enhance ties with Vietnam.

Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association President Valadimir Buyanov expressed joy at the re-election of Nguyen Phu Trong as Party General Secretary, saying that it will help promote bilateral relations.

Also, Jorge Kreyness, Secretary in charge of International Affairs of the Communist Party of Argentina (PCA), affirmed that the election of the new Party Central Committee, which includes members of various age groups, shows inheritance among leader generations.

He said Vietnam has successfully applied the socialism-oriented market economy model, helping promote the country’s economic development and international integration.

On the occasion, he extended his congratulations to 200 members of the new Party Central Committee and 19 new politburo members, and re-elected Party General Secretary Trong.-VNA
