Over 200 scientists, including five Nobel laureates, were brought together at an international physics conference, which opened in the central province of Binh Dinh on August 12.
Themed “Windows on the Universe”, the five-day event aims to pinpoint the crucial role of science in creating major technological breakthroughs for the sake of mankind.
Physicists also took this occasion to share experience in doing research and acquire the cutting edged achievements in the field.
During the event, Nobel laureates Prof. Sheldon Glashow from the US and Prof. Klaus von Klitzing from Germany presented the latest studies on particle physics, astrophysics and cosmology.
As part of the ninth Meet Vietnam Programme, the conference is being held by the Meeting Vietnam Organisation (MVO).-VNA
