Investment capital to Quang Tri surges 10-fold since start of 2021

As of mid-November, the central province of Quang Tri had granted investment licences to 56 projects with total registered capital of nearly 69.6 trillion VND (3.05 billion USD), up 10-fold against the same period last year.

Quang Tri (VNA) – As of mid-November, the centralprovince of Quang Tri had granted investment licences to 56 projects with totalregistered capital of nearly 69.6 trillion VND (3.05 billion USD), up 10-foldagainst the same period last year.

The increase was attributed to Quang Tri’s efforts in COVID-19prevention and control and maintaining socio-economic development. The provincehas also bolstered administrative reforms and support for investors.  

The energy sector attracts the highest amount of capital,particularly wind and gas-fired power.
Since the start of this year, Quang Tri has given in principle approval to a numberof major wind power projects, namely the Huong Linh No.5 with more than 1.34trillion VND and Huong Hiep No.2 worth 1.37 million VND.
As many as 17 wind power projects in the province were putinto commercial operations before November 1 to enjoy the Government’sincentive, said Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Hung.
In regards to gas-fired power, in October, local authoritiesgranted permission to the Hai Lang LNG power centre project – first phase, witha capacity of 1,500MW and registered capital near 53 trillion VND.
The project, located at the province’s south-east economiczone, is expected to come into commercial operation by 2026-27./.

Forum seeks solutions to build brand for Vietnamese Robusta coffee

Automakers race toward fierce competition as sector shifts gears

According to the latest figures from the Department of Customs, Vietnam imported 16,343 cars in October. Although this represents a 5.5% drop from the previous month, total imports over the first ten months reached 171,364 units, up 20% year on year. Import turnover neared 4 billion USD, the highest level in the past three years.

Coffee exports likely to exceed 8 billion USD this year

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment reported that Vietnam sold 1.3 million tonnes of coffee overseas for 7.41 billion USD between January and October, up 61.8% year-on-year and marking the highest annual value increase to date. The average export price reached 5,653 USD per tonne, a surge of 42.5% from the same period last year. Several markets posted outstanding growth, particularly Mexico, where export value jumped by 34.7 times.

Another Korean airline opens direct route to Nha Trang

Aero K said that Nha Trang is its second destination in Vietnam after central Da Nang city. The airline has been steadily expanding routes to Japan, Taiwan (China), and Southeast Asian countries, increasing its international flights for the RoK’s central region.
