Hanoi (VNA) – Experience in sustainable architecture and buildingdesign was shared between Vietnam and Italy during the second “Italian DesignDay” held on March 1 at the Department ofItalian Studies of the Hanoi University.

The annual event, which drew professors, architects and architectural andconstruction companies from both nations, aims toillustrate different approaches to the issue of sustainability and identifypoints of contact that enrich relations between the two countries.

Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Celilia Piccioni said sustainability will be thetheme of the Embassy’s activities to celebrate 45 years of diplomatic relationsin 2018.

On one same day, in more than 100 cities worldwide, 100 ambassadors of Italianculture - architects, designers, entrepreneurs, journalists, critics,communicators and educators - discussed the relation between design andsustainability.

Last year’s Italian Design Day was a verysuccessful event, involving some 20,000 design experts in more than 100 citiesacross the world.-VNA

Ca Mau approves investment policy for waste-to-energy plant

The waste-to-energy plant is planned for construction in Dat Moi commune, covering a total area of about 20 hectares. It will have a waste treatment capacity of approximately 600 tonnes of household waste per day and a power generation capacity of 6MW.
