Movie buffs will enjoy special screenings of popular Japanese films at the Japanese Film Festival in Hanoi , Hai Phong and HCM City.

The six films include Always – Sunset on Third Street (2005); Dora-Heita (2000); Memories of Matsuko (2006); The Blossoming of Etsuko Kamiya, Tokyo Tower – Mom&Me, and Sometimes Dad (2007).

The film festival will provide Vietnamese film - lovers with the latest Japanese films, The films will give audiences a panorama of Japanese history, culture and society, said Takeji Yoshikawa, director of the Japan Foundation.

The festival is co-held by the Japan Foundation and the Vietnam Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism as one of activities to celebrate the Mekong-Japan Exchange Year 2009.

All of the films have won wide acclaim in Japan .

The film festival will be held in Hanoi from Nov. 14-18 and in HCM City from Nov. 25-29./.
