Japan helps Ninh Binh build primary schools

The Japanese government will provide 200,000 USD in non-refundable aid to build two primary schools in the northern province of Ninh Binh.

A contract to this effect was signed in Hanoi on July 28.

Under the project, new classrooms will be built to replace makeshiftsmall ones which used to be farm storehouses in Yen Binh, Tam Diep townand Kim Chinh communes, Kim Son district.

Speakingat the signing ceremony, Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Mitsuo Sakabasaid that the two projects will help improve primary education in thetwo communes./.

Rare green sea turtle released back into the wild in Quang Tri

The green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas), locally known as vich, is a rare and protected species under Vietnamese law. It is also listed by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as a species of conservation concern and is included in the appendices of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
