The Japanese Government will provide 195,813 USD as non-refundable aid to carry out two education and training projects in the southern provinces of Dong Nai and Ninh Thuan.

A contract to this effect was signed at the Japanese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City on Oct. 22.

The projects are under the Japanese Government’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots and Human Security Projects (GGP), which have been carried out in 26 southern cities and provinces of Vietnam since 1995.

The first project, worth 104,446 USD, will help build a primary school in Hoa Thanh village, An Hai commune, Ninh Phuoc district, Ninh Thuan province. The school will replace the existing one built nearly 30 years ago.

The second project worth 91,367 USD will provide machine tools for vocational training in Dinh Quan district, Dong Nai province to help trainees to have more opportunities to practise and find jobs at large industrial parks in the province.

According to Japanese Deputy Consul-General to Ho Chi Minh City Tetsumi Murata, so far the GGP programme has funded 112 projects worth over 8 million USD, contributing to improving living conditions for people in rural areas of Vietnam./.
