Japanese culture to hit Hanoi

Japanese arts and culture will be in the spotlight at the Fukuoka Fair, which will be held in Hanoi later this month.
Japanese arts and culture will be in the spotlight at the Fukuoka Fair, which will be held in Hanoi later this month.

Entrance to the three day festival will be free and highlights includea cosplay contest featuring participants dressed as their favouritecharacter from animation series and video games.

Visitors willalso get a chance to see a range of performances, including yosakoi andflashmob dance and a performance using voice synthesisers.

Organised by the Asia Youth Culture Centre based in Japan’s FukuokaPrefecture , this festival will also spotlight Japanese calligraphy,the Shamisen (Japanese three stringed musical instrument), Japanese teaculture and traditional games.

The fair, one of the events tocelebrate 40 years of diplomatic relation between Vietnam and Japan,will be held at the Deawoo hotel from August 19 to 31.-VNA

According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the exhibition is expected to add a meaningful artistic event to the Lang Sen Festival.
