The information was revealed at a working session in Can Tho city onApril 15, between the Steering Committee for the Southwestern Region andregional authorities.
Nguyen Phong Quang, deputy headof the steering committee said the visit is a good chance forlocalities to introduce their potential and incentives to lure Japaneseinvestors to the region, which has so far recorded the lowest foreigndirect investment in the country.
According theMinistry of Foreign Affairs and the steering committee, since Japan andVietnam elevated their ties to extensive strategic partnership, Japanesefirms are eager for seeking more investment opportunities in Vietnam.
As scheduled, the delegation will attend a conference on agricultureinvestment environment and cooperation in Can Tho and make fact-findingtours to some big businesses in Hau Giang, Dong Thap and Vinh Longprovinces.-VNA
