Hanoi (VNA) – Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has expressed his desire to assist Vietnam in implementing managerial personnel training projects.

“Human resources training is very important,” Abe said during a meeting with Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and head of the committee’s Organisation Commission Pham Minh Chinh in Hanoi on January 17.

He spoke highly of the intensive and practical cooperation between the friendship parliamentary groups of the two countries, which he said has contributed to enhancing the Vietnam-Japan relations.

Pham Minh Chinh, who is also Chairman of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group, showed his pleasure with the thriving ties between the two nations with high political trust and growing collaboration in security-defence, economy, agrulculture and local exchange.

Appreciating the activities of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance, Chinh said he hopes that the Japanese PM will continue supporting the two groups in their operations to make active contributions to developing Vietnam-Japan relations.

He also hoped for Abe’s assistance for Vietnam in human resources training and administrative reform.

The same day, the Japanese leader had a meeting with President of Hanoi-based Vietnam National University (VNU) Nguyen Kim Son, and lecturers and students from the VNU’s Vietnam-Japan University.

Son proposed the PM promote official development assistance (ODA) investment in building the Vietnam-Japan University as well as its organisational, operational and financial regulations.

Abe underlined the university as an important cooperation project between Vietnam and Japan, which is expected to train high-quality human resources for both countries.

Students will be young and future human resources of Vietnam, he said, calling them to contribute to the development of the bilateral relations./.
