Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s budget carrier Jetstar Pacific on February 1 put into service its automatic check-in kiosk system at airport, allowing passengers to check-in within only 30 seconds.
This is a modern check-in technology introduced by Jetstar Pacific following its implementation of a web check-in system.
Accordingly, passengers just need to enter their reservation code, check flight information, and print a boarding pass before proceeding to the security gate.
Nguyen Quoc Phuong, JestarPacfic CEO, said many passengers enthusiastically responded to the new system on the first day, stressing that the check-in kiosks help save time for passengers and reduce long-queues at the airport, especially during peak times around the Lunar New Year festival.
The check-in kiosks have been installed at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City to meet passengers’ increasing travel demand during Tet. Jetstar Pacific has stepped up efforts to deploy the system at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi and Da Nang Airport in the coming time.
Apart from the traditional check-in process, passengers can check-in at the airline’s website at www.jetstar.com from two to 48 hours ahead of the departure time or use Ipad check-in services over the wifi available at Tan Son Nhat, Noi Bai and Da Nang airports.
Jetstar Pacific now operates 29 domestic and nine international routes, connecting to Jetstar Group’s network to 82 destinations in 18 nations.
To meet the increasing travel demand during Tet, the carrier planned to run nearly 3,000 flights, up 10 percent compared to its frequency.-VNA
