Hanoi (VNA) – The low-cost carrier Jetstar Pacific Airlines officially operated the Hanoi-Tuy Hoa route as its plane with 180 passengers on board landed at Tuy Hoa airport in the morning of December 16.
The airline operates four flights per week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday Jetstar Pacific, using A320 aircraft with 180 seats on the route . The time for each flight is shortened by 40 minutes to one hour and 50 minutes.
According to Chairman of the People Committee of central Phu Yen province Hoang Van Tra, the launch of the route will help people in the province and surrounding areas to access low-cost aviation services while contributing to promoting Phu Yen’s image and attracting investors to the province.
Previously, the route was operated by the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, using aircraft ATR-72 with 68 seats.
The transfer of the route to Jetstar Pacific is part of Vietnam Airlines’ strategy to develop a dual brand between the two carriers, aiming to diversify products and meet the increasing demand of passengers.
Previously, Vietnam Airlines transferred two air routes: Ho Chi Minh City-Tuy Hoa and Ho Chi Minh City-Chu Lai to Jetstar Pacific.
Jetstar Pacific is a member of the Jestar Group, a leading low-cost airline brand in Asia-Pacific with a fleet of 75 aircraft and network of routes to 17 countries.
Vietnam Airlines is the largest shareholder in Jetstar Pacific, owning 69.93 percent of the shares. With the links between the two airlines, it is expected to bring more choices of products and serve to passengers.-VNA
