Yen Bai (VNA) – A delegation of the JapanInternational Cooperation Agency (JICA) had a working trip to the northernprovince of Yen Bai on November 29.

At a meeting with local authorities, Wada Yoichi, seniorconsultant of the JICA volunteer programme, said JICA hoped the Yen Bai and itsMu Cang Chai district to create favourable conditions for JICA’s volunteers for community-basedtourism development. He unveiled that one more volunteer in the field is aboutto come to the local Nghia Lo township.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Ngo HanhPhuc thanked Japan’s assistance for Yen Bai so far. Through JICA, the provincehas received 20 ODA projects with a total investment of over 133.5 billion VND(5.88 million USD) and five other projects sponsored by the Japanese Embassywith a committed value of 381,028 USD in transport, health, and waste treatment.

Yen Bai also signed an agreement to establish a cooperativerelationship with Japan’s Mimasaka city and Okayama province in the fields ofvocational training, exchange of interns, labor export, agriculture and tourism.

Phuc stated Yen Bai will create best conditions possible forthe volunteers to work and proposed JICA further pay attention to and invest inthe province’s sectors of education, health, environment protection, andclimate change response./.

Ministry of Home Affairs to apply KPIs in public employee evaluation

Public order crime drops 22.55% in first half

In the field of economic crime, 2,096 cases involving 4,194 suspects were prosecuted in the first half. For corruption and position-related crimes, 370 cases and 1,042 suspects were brought to trial. Meanwhile, police uncovered 11,687 drug-related cases involving 22,863 individuals.

Youth volunteers support operation of local administration model, online public services

The programme prioritises 286 remote border communes, wards and special areas, where coordination between local youth units is seen as crucial. Volunteers are deployed across three main functions: supporting officials with administrative procedures, helping people and businesses submit online applications and payments, and offering digital training through creative models such as mobile tech clinics and grassroots tech groups.
