Quang Nam (VNA) – A ceremony to release the joint issue of the “Vietnam-Portugal” stamp collection took place in Hoi An city, in the central province of Quang Nam on July 1.

The collection includes two 43x32mm-size samples designed by painter To Minh Trang from the Vietnam Post and artists from Portugal.

One of the samples depicts a Vietnamese Chu Dau pottery vase dated to the 15th century against the background of a blue ocean and panorama of the Hoi An ancient town.

The other sample illustrates a made-in-Portugal pottery plate dated to the 13 th century against the background of a seashore and panorama of ancient Lisbon city.

Both samples also feature Vietnamese and Portuguese national flags.
The stamp collection will also be released in 192 countries and territories under the Universal Portal Union.

The Vietnam-Portugal commercial relation was established when the first Portuguese navigators came to Hoi An ancient town five centuries ago. The release of the joint issue stamps reflects the solidarity and good relationship between the two countries.-VNA
