Hanoi (VNA) – National Assembly (NA) ChairwomanNguyen Thi Kim Ngan underlined the importance of judicial cooperation, whichhelps strengthen traditional cooperation between Vietnam and Mozambique, whilereceiving Mozambican Attorney-General Beatriz Buchili on August 21.

At the meeting in Hanoi, the two sides hailedthe countries’ relations since they set up diplomatic ties in 1975, adding thatthey have continually given enormous support to each other’s nationalprotection and development.

Chairwoman Ngan said aside from fine politicallinkages, connections in economy, trade, investment, education, agriculture andservices have also been reinforced.

She affirmed that the Vietnamese NationalAssembly supports the Supreme People’s Procuracy of Vietnam and the MozambicanAttorney General’s Office to step up cooperation and information and experiencesharing so as to serve the reform and completion of each country’s judicialsystem.

She added the recently signed memorandum ofunderstanding between the two agencies is an important legal foundation forthem to boost cooperation activities in the time ahead.

For her part, Beatriz Buchili said herdelegation’s working visit to Vietnam aims to bolster judicial connections andlearn from the Southeast Asian nation’s experience in fighting trans-nationalcrimes and wildlife poaching and trafficking.

On this occasion, Chairwoman Ngan asked relevantagencies of Mozambique and the Attorney-General, within their competence, tocreate favourable conditions for Vietnamese people in the country.-VNA
