President of the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Association Men Sam Onchaired the ceremony, which saw the presence of representatives fromVietnamese localities.
Addressing the event, Sam On,who is also Cambodia ’s Deputy Prime Minister, spoke highly ofefforts made by the Association of Cambodians of Vietnamese Origin inpromoting free education for Cambodian-Vietnamese children.
The school is a vivid manifestation of the traditional solidarity andmutual assistance between the two peoples, she stressed, adding it alsoserves as a place where children can learn about their origins.
She instructed Svay Rieng provincial authorities and people tofacilitate the training of Khmer and Vietnamese languages at the school.
The school, including four well-equippedclassrooms, was built at a cost of 110,000 USD, with 95,000 USD providedby Vietnam ’s Long An province, which shares the border with SvayRieng
