Labour exporters urge accord with Israel

Bureau head,Nguyen Ngoc Quynh, unveiled the plan after emphasising that the absenceof such an agreement was a major hurdle for Vietnamese guest workers totap the world’s most developed agricultural market, which is notdemanding while offering high incomes.

The factthat Israel needs just between 4,000 and 5,000 guest workers annuallywhile Thailand has already met up to 60 percent of the demand has pushedVietnamese authorities to rush to reach an agreement in this field.

The Overseas Workers Management Bureau says guest workers can get paid between 1,300 and 1,500 USD a month.

In 2008, the Middle East market embarked on receiving Vietnameseguest workers through a programme of cooperation in training ofapprentices signed with the Ministry of Agriculture and RuralDevelopment. As a result, 236 Vietnamese guest workers have been so farsent to work in Israel with annual net incomes ranging from 5,000USD to 7,000 USD./.
