Hoa Binh (VNA) – A landslide buried four houses and 18 persons in the early hours of October 12 in the northern province of Hoa Binh, which has been hit by heavy rains over the past few days.
Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung and provincial officials arrived at the scene in Khanh village, Phu Cuong commune, Tan Lac district, on the morning of October 12 to supervise the search for victims.
Hundreds of soldiers from local police, military and militia forces have been mobilized to look for the victims under the mass of soil. So far eight bodies have been found.
The landslide aside, 39 people in the province were reported dead, injured and missing from floods as of 7am on October 12.-VNA
