Hai congratulated Laos on its achievements made under the leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP), especially its joining the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and the successful organisation of the 9th Asia-Europe Summit.
He affirmed that the city will do its utmost to fulfil cooperative agreements between the two Politburos and expand cooperation with Vientiane capital city and some Lao southern provinces.
Yathotou expressed her hope that in the time to come, Ho Chi Minh City will continue promoting experience exchange with Vientiane and other localities of Laos.
Earlier the same day, the Lao leader visited the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang and awarded gifts to three outstanding Vietnamese veterans who had fought in Laos.-VNA
