Major Lao newspapers on December 7 featured the ongoing Vietnam visit by Chairman of the Lao National Assembly xaysomphone Phomvihane, stressing that it not only further strengthens close-knit ties between the two legislatures but also further deepens ties between the two nations.

Vientiane (VNA) – Major Lao newspaperson December 7 featured the ongoing Vietnam visit by President of the LaoNational Assembly xaysomphone Phomvihane, stressing that it not only furtherstrengthens close-knit ties between the two legislatures but also furtherdeepens ties between the two nations.

ThePasaxon, mouthpiece of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP), run a front-page article reviewing activities by the Laoleader on December 6, from the official welcome ceremony by Vietnamese NAChairman Vuong Dinh Hue to discussions by leaders of the two parliamentaryorgans to further tighten bilateral ties.

On thefirst day of the visit on December 6, Xaysomphone Phomvihane also attended a seminarsharing experience in holding Q&A sessions in the NA’s meetings anddeciding on important projects, it said.

Meanwhile,the Vientiane Times newspaper ran an article lauding cooperation between the twolegislatures, highlighting that it is the first overseas trip by Xaysomphone Phomvihane sincehe was elected as President of the Lao NA early this year.

Accordingto the article, during talks on December 6, the two top legislators praisedcloser ties between the two parliaments.

Alsoon its front page, the PathetLao Daily said despite COVID-19 pandemic in the recent past, ties between the Vietnamese and Lao legislatures have beenincreasingly closer, most notably the building of the new headquarters of theLao NA – gift of the Vietnamese Party, State and people for Lao counterparts.It is also one of the symbols of great friendship, special solidarity andcomprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, governments, legislaturesand peoples.

It added that thevisit once again shows that ties between the Vietnamese and Lao NA have beenincreasingly fruitful and effective./.
