Laos reports two earthquakes in northern province

Vientiane (VNA) - The Lao NationalEarthquake Data Centre announced that the country recorded twoconsecutive earthquakes at 4am on December 20 in the northern province of Xayaboury.

According to the agency, a magnitude 3.5 earthquake occurred in Sala village inSaysathan district on 4:02 am with an epicenter about 10 km deep.

The second one with a magnitude of 5.8 occurred at 4:06 am, about 4 km fromHouaysalad village of Saysathan district with a shallow depth of 10 km beneaththe epicenter, the centre said.

People in neighbouring provinces also felt the tremors of these earthquakes. No damage in these two earthquakes have been reported so far./.
