Laos has called on its citizens in Thailand to return home via official channel to receive support in immigration, medical screening and quarantine in line with regulations.

Vientiane (VNA) – Laos has called on its citizens inThailand to return home via official channel to receive support in immigration,medical screening and quarantine in line with regulations.

On July 18, the Lao HealthMinistry announced additional 131 infection cases in the past 24 hours, a dailyrecord, eight of them were local transmissions in Champasak province. A death wasalso reported the same day, bringing the total fatalities to five.

The country also receivedover 1 million doses of vaccine manufactured by Johnson & Johnson via COVAXFacility initiative. Priority will be given to those aged above 60, frontlinemedical staff and those with underlying diseases.

Lao has so far reported3,426 infection cases./.
